Thirty Five café

Whether you are studying English Literature or Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, you are likely to have a long reading list. If you want a quiet spot to dip into a book before your day starts, head over to Thirty Five Café in the Richard Hoggart Building. The café is open from 8.30am so you can grab a corner seat and a cup of coffee.

Ian Gulland Lecture Theatre

Attending a lecture will be a regular activity while you study at Goldsmiths. This is a chance for you to develop your understanding of the topics you are studying. You should focus on developing your listening skills to ensure you absorb what your lecturer is telling you, ready for any follow-up seminars or workshops. Today’s topic is Explorations in Literature, so hopefully your morning reading will come in handy.

College Green

The College Green is the perfect lunch spot and luckily is only a short walk from your lecture. An oasis of calm in New Cross, the ‘back field’ offers ample space for you to relax with friends. You are close by to many of the food outlets on campus, and can easily access New Cross Road for favourite local cafés and restaurants.

You’ve got a long reading list to tackle, so making frequent trips to the Library is recommended. With over 300,000 books and a vast collection of online resources, you will be able to find everything you need to support your studies. If there is a particular area you are reading around, make sure you speak to one of the Subject Librarians who will be able to provide expert support.

Wired Radio

Wired Radio

If you fancy doing something a little different after completing your studies for the day, why not get involved in Wired Radio. The student-led radio station can be found opposite the Students’ Union building, and you can apply to host your own radio show, getting hands-on experience working in a small studio environment. Alternatively, if you are feeling a little tired, you could listen to the latest shows back at home.
